Carpet comes off a 4m-wide roll, so all we need is the length and width of each room at its widest points. Here's how to get it right.

Measure length & width
With a steel or laser tape, measure wall to wall in metres.

Don't stop short
Measure into alcoves, bay windows and any recesses — always to the furthest wall in each direction.

L-shaped room?
Tick L-Shaped Room if the extra section is large. If it's just a small nook, measure the whole room as one rectangle and skip it.

More than one room?
Set Space Type to "Multiple Rooms" and add each room with its own measurements.
💡 Measure twice, round up. You can always trim carpet, but you can't stretch it. Rooms wider than 4m are joined with a seam — that's normal, and it's already included in your estimate.
