Carpet comes off a 4m-wide roll, so all we need is the length and width of each room at its widest points. Here's how to get it right.
1
Measure length & width
With a steel or laser tape, measure wall to wall in metres.
2
Don't stop short
Measure into alcoves, bay windows and any recesses β always to the furthest wall in each direction.
3
L-shaped room?
Tick L-Shaped Room if the extra section is large. If it's just a small nook, measure the whole room as one rectangle and skip it.
4
More than one room?
Set Space Type to "Multiple Rooms" and add each room with its own measurements.
π‘ Measure twice, round up. You can always trim carpet, but you can't stretch it. Rooms wider than 4m are joined with a seam β that's normal, and it's already included in your estimate.
